About Department of Law The Department of Law is dedicated to fostering a transformative legal education that empowers students with a profound understanding of the law, a commitment to justice, and the skills needed for successful and ethical legal practice.The Department of Law is renowned for its innovative teaching methods, impactful research, and commitment to social justice. We aspire to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that promotes critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and a global perspective. Through our dedication to excellence, inclusivity, and collaboration, we aim to shape the legal professionals of tomorrow, who will address the complex challenges of the legal world.

The Department of Law offers two programs in legal studies:
1. Integrated Master of Science in Law (Integrated Second Cycle Degree Program) i.e. five years of full-time study equal to 300 ECTS. The integrated program intertwines the area of study of two main legal systems in the world: Civil and Common Law. This program which integrates both bachelor and master studies is the first of its kind in Albania since 2009.
2. Master of Science in International Commercial Law (ICL) (two-year master's degree program) 120 ECTS. This program is focused on international commercial law and its graduates have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in this field.

At the heart of our academic offer is an updated curriculum designed to equip students with a profound knowledge of legal principles, national and international legal framework, court cases, and jurisprudence.
Our dedicated faculty of experienced legal scholars and practitioners is one of the strongest aspects of this program, ensuring that students benefit from a fusion of theoretical insights and real-world perspectives. Small classes (American style of lecturing) promote interactive discussions, enabling students to engage deeply with legal concepts, and court case roles, to develop critical thinking skills.
The Department of Law prides itself on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession. We strive to create an inclusive community that reflects the rich tapestry of perspectives within the legal landscape. Through various initiatives, students have the opportunity to explore different areas of law, engage in moot court competitions, and gain practical experience that enhances their legal skills.
Our commitment to genuine learning extends beyond the classroom. The department maintains strong cooperation with legal companies, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations, providing students with numerous opportunities for internships and networking events. Being the first integrated program and reorganized in 2020 several courses were added to enrich the curriculum with the latest legal developments. These experiences bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for successful careers in law.
As a hub for legal scholarship, the Department of Law encourages faculty and student research on cutting-edge legal issues. Our library is equipped with an extensive collection of resources, domestic and international legal collections.
