TIRANA

The capital city of the Republic of Albania, located in Central Albania, was founded in 1614. With a surface of 42 square kilometres, it is the largest city and the most significant economic, administrative, the political, social and cultural centre of the country. Tirana has assumed the look of a great A European city with striking architecture, modern buildings, innumerable shops, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants, and a broad eight-lane boulevard on both sides of Lana River.


THINGS TO DO AROUND TIRANA!!

Tirana is one of the liveliest capital cities in Europe.

Visit the National Arts Gallery, the National Theater, and the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Albania.

Have a coffee break in one of the many cafes lining the street.

If you need an excellent spot to take a break from the hectic city centre, visit the Grand Park of Tirana. It is a large park surrounding an artificial lake to the South of Tirana. Visitors will find large green spaces for picnics and outdoor activities, park benches, bike lanes and trails. Aside from the artificial lake, there are lovely botanical gardens (Kopshti Botanik) and the the only zoo in Albania

Catch a movie at Cineplexx, Albania, TEG or QTU.


TRANSPORTATION IN TIRANA

Most locals travel by bus or taxi, and an extensive bus network makes it easy for foreigners living in Tirana to reach most parts of the city centre with minimum fuss. You could also use taxis characterized by yellow plates to save more time. A mobile phone app also provides details of Tirana’s public transport links. The city is served by Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa, which is located to the north-west of the city centre and is sometimes known as Rinas Airport. Having been reconstructed in the late In the 2000s, it became one of the largest airports in this part of Europe and acted as a regional hub.

Blloku

It is Tirana's most popular and busiest area, where students mostly prefer to stay. You can find various modern restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs.

Mullixhiu

This small "Farm to Table" restaurant offers unique Albanian dishes with a contemporary twist. Every detail in this restaurant is fascinating, starting from outside the restaurant with herbs and green leaves growing, hinting at the cuisine's freshness. Mullixhiu is on a bustling and vital street in Tirana, next to the Grand Park of Artificial Lake, in the "Lasgush Poradeci Promenade.


Nano Resort

If you would like to go outside of Tirana for a delicious meal, Nano Resort is highly recommended. It is located in Daias village in Tirana. The resort has four large greenhouses where various products are cultivated for domestic consumption in the restaurant.


Ballkoni I Dajtit

“Eat with a view” is how we can describe Ballkoni i Dajtit restaurant, located at the top of the Dajti mountain. It is the last stop of the “Dajti Ekspres” Cable Car. The restaurant offers a comfortable interior where you can dine and enjoy a fantastic view over Tirana. Traditional and Mediterranean cuisine is provided there with a variety of choices.


Era Vila
