Welcome to the Department of Psychology

Our department is dedicated to ensuring student success by providing a highly qualified and professional academic staff for research and teaching. We are proud to have collaborated with Empire State University in New York, USA, for 18 years to offer an enriched experience for psychology students. Our academic staff in Psychology are licensed psychology practitioners and supervisors fully equipped to provide evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment. We share a common passion for exploring the intricacies of the human brain, behavior, cognitive processing, and emotional responses. We invite you to join us in comprehending our individual and collective feelings, thoughts, and actions in diverse settings.
The Department of Psychology is proud of its distinguished university scholars who have received excellent teaching awards from UNYT. Our staff hold academic degrees and titles in clinical and counseling psychology, developmental and cultural psychology, biology, academic English, and education. We proudly run the Counselling Clinic at UNYT, the Academic English center and support our students’ Psychology Club in their hard work and passion. Our students consistently achieve performance excellence and receive scholarships. Academic English and APA (American Psychological Association) style are fundamental components of rigorous research, which are the foundation of our department. Furthermore, the APA style sets the guidelines for formatting and referencing sources in academic writing, which is critical in providing evidence for claims made in research. Adhering to these standards helps establish the credibility and rigor of the research of our students and future professionals. Our alums, both at the Bachelor's and Master's levels, have bright professional futures in national and international institutions, including academia.

Psychological well-being has become increasingly crucial in self-care, and many people need to consult a professional psychologist. We assist students in achieving their potential through self-awareness, mindset, and ethical learning. We help students realize their potential through self-awareness, perspective, and moral education.

As the Department Chair, I am committed to creating a positive, respectful, and fair work and teaching environment that meets the highest international standards for our services in Albania. The Department of Psychology provides two-degree programs: a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Science in Psychology with concentrations in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology and Legal Psychology.
